Thankful Thursday: What is Your One Thing?

If you would like to join in on the “Thankful Thursday blog meme, just head on over to Spiritually Unequal Marriage which is generously hosting the meme this month.
Well, today is going to be short and sweet. I am so very thankful that my husband is feeling better. He has been sick with a nasty cold for the past several days and has just been miserable. When you are a sole proprietor of your own business, it is NOT good to be sick.
I am also VERY thankful that the kids and I have not been really ill. We haven’t felt great but we haven’t actually been sick either. Now, my daughter did manage to sprain her wrist last week but that’s another story.
Oh, another thing I am thankful for is that my kids are such great cooks! They made dinner last night and I think it was the best veggie soup I have ever eaten. My husband has taught them well. I don’t cook any more than I have to. The crock pot is my friend. OK, that’s another thing I am thankful for – the crock pot.
I am also thankful for other electronic appliances such as my washer and dryer. I hate doing laundry but I sure like using modern machines rather than going to some lake or river and beating my clothes on a rock. I am thankful for clothes too. What would we do without jeans and tennis shoes? How about shoe laces? We have to be thankful for them too.
Yes, I know this is a bit disjointed and it wasn’t exactly the direction I intended to take with my post today. However, it does illustrate a good point. If you are ever having one of those dark days where it is really difficult to be thankful, just try really hard and come up with one thing. Most of the time, if we can just think of one thing we are thankful for, it will be a domino effect and that one thing will help us think of another and another and another. We are truly so blessed even on the darkest days and I sincerely hope you will be able to come up with a long list of things you can be thankful for today.
I could go on but I’d much rather go take a nap on my lovely bed that I am also SO VERY thankful for.
What are you thankful for today?
