Some of you may know I don’t have the best eyesight. Thankfully, a lack of eyesight does not necessarily equate with a lack of vision. ![]()
One reason I have really enjoyed blogging here at Family on the Phone is because I am a gadget junkie. Of course, not every cool new gizmo actually proves to be useful; in fact, they can sometimes be more trouble than they are worth. Due to my eyesight though, there are a few pieces of technology I would have a very hard time doing without. I would like to share these here with you today because I truly am thankful for those wonderful people who were inspired to develop these inventions. Because of their vision, many blind or visually impaired people can lead more independent lives and participate in all the same activities as anyone else.
So, here are a few pieces of technology I am truly thankful for.
- My lighted magnifying glass.
- My screen reading software.
- My portable digital book reader
- My specialized PDA
- My cell phone which is a standard phone but has some great features that make it easier for me to use.
What pieces of technology are you thankful for? I’d love to hear about them.
