Technology: The Scary Facts

It can be frightening how much is known about what you do and say at any given time.

I personally don’t want everyone or anyone for that matter knowing what I am most often texting about or what I search for on my computer. It seems to me, some things should still be private. These days, however, technology keeps track!

Check out this You Tube Video which is now airing on television.

While this video by Sprint is eye-catching and amusing, it is also scary to think about.

    It is scary if I dwell on it. This is why I’m overly protective of my last name and my children.

    WOW. I actually just saw this commercial this morning. There are points that make me laugh (like the 26% who don’t understand what the Twitter is about). And other parts that scare me (like how they know that diapers is the most common texted subject…) Technology – can be our friend, can be our enemy… It’s a tool we have to use wisely!

    Okay so just the fact that they know that the emails contain the words Miracle Banana Diet is just scary. The whole thing is scary and really makes you think about how much of yourself and your family is out there!

    Hi Amy, just a random thought for you because it’s been a talk-about issue at our school and church this week. It might be interesting if you address “sexting” at some point in the next few weeks. Like, how to address the issue with your kids, how to set boundaries, if/when it’s appropriate to monitor your child’s phone usage, etc.

    This actually doesn’t scare me. I am just not to worried. I think if something is going to happen it will happen reguardless of what I do. I know a lot of people disagree with me but I don’t have the energy to be fearful of things I can’t control. I will just monitor the best I can.

    Danielle, I see your point. It is true we can’t control this and worrying needlessly just causes more stress in our lives. I guess I wouldn’t say I worry about it but am more just concerned. Thanks for your comment!

    I’ve seen that commercial before and it does sort of freak you out We are all so dialed in, it’s scary.
