My curious nature has taken over this week. What started out as a single post about interesting apps for the iphone led me to investigate apps for the new Windows Mobile OS. With Android phones now firmly in the marketplace, I can’t very well ignore those apps can I?
Here are a few of the apps that piqued my interest.
Snap Tell for Android allows you to comparison shop for Cds, DVDs, books, or video games by snapping a picture of the cover or by scanning the bar code with your phone. You can even find local merchants who carry the item you are looking for.
Google Sky Map for Android uses your phone’s GPS locator to show you details about stars, planets, and constellations in the sky wherever you are. This app sounds both fun and educational – a home school mom‘s dream.
City Audioguides for Android also uses GPS technology to provide a museum tour-like experience as you travel. auditory historical and cultural information can be provided about your current physical location.
In addition to these, you can check out the following two sites for even more great Android apps
- Technobuzz.net
- AndroidCommunity.com
If you have an Android phone, please share your favorite apps with me in our comments section.

Why do you think the Android isn't as popular as the iPhone? I don't know any that has one.

Well, they are really just now getting established in the market. Some believe they will indeed give the iphone a run for its money. Only time will tell.
